Where Everybody Knows Your Name

Making your way in the world today
Takes everything you've got.
Taking a break from all your worries,
Sure would help a lot.
Wouldn't you like to get away?
Sometimes you want to go
Where everybody knows your name,
and they're always glad you came.
You wanna be where you can see,
our troubles are all the same
You wanna be where everybody knows your name.
(Song & Lyrics by: Gary Portnoy & Judy Hart Angelo)

I think I heard some of you singing !!! For those of you in my age bracket, you more than likely remember that favorite sit-com, the comedic study on human relationships- Cheers. (Are the re-runs even on any more?)

At The Grove, we realize that one of our vital human needs is for connection and relationship. We know that each of us needs to regularly get away to a safe and healthy place of community where everybody knows our name, and where folks are genuinely glad we came. When we come together in this way I think that we are also relieved and maybe even surprised to discover that we all have troubles just the same. In the context of The Church, we call this type of community “fellowship.” Here we find support, challenge and encouragement. Practically, we call them Life-Growth Groups.

Wouldn’t you like to get away?

For June July and August we have intentionally planned summer groups that meet on various days and various times to accommodate your schedule and your needs. Sign-ups go through the month of May. NOTE: Last sign up day is May 31st and groups start the first week of June so don’t miss out! Visit the sign-up table so we can plan for you to join us in a place where everybody knows YOUR name.

Until Next Time,
Peggy
