~~~~~~~ Sharing Salsa!~~~~~~~~~
Last evening, the Monday Night Life-Growth Group met at Lucita's for some Mexican fare. We shared not only the salsa bowl and chips (with NO double dipping!), but dinner peppered throughout with stories and easy laughter.
This group of foodies were even adventurous enough to try mole sauce (pronounced molay). I liken it to a burnt tasting bitter chocolate sauce. A consensus vote of all but one (Connie :) agreed that this was the only form of chocolate we could forever do without.
Full,after enjoying our entrees, we decided to order some flan- (on one plate with six spoons!) If you've never had it, flan is a type of vanilla/egg custard with a type of brown sugar/cane syrup over the top. The consensus of first time tasters reported it to be rich but YUMmmmm!
There's just something so sacred and bonding about sharing a meal around a table together. You can almost feel the friendships being forged over the sound of forks clinking against plates, and in the shared food,laughter and conversation.
I think that we ended the evening in mutual agreement that we all need more mandatory play in our lives! Next Monday we will decide on our group outreach activity. We are also definitely scheduling another fun night, and I have a sneaking suspicion that chocolate may be involved- (not mole(molay), more like Dove or "Hershay"!!
Laughter is good Medicine.... Proverbs 17:22
'Until next time,
Peggy
Now I'm really hungry! Not just for food - but for the fellowship! So glad your group as well as many others are committed to the kind of fellowship that forges life-long friendships.
